Job Description

Job Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for basic repairs and maintenance to fleet vehicles.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Report to Shop Manager for daily repair schedule
  • Assess necessary repairs to fleet vehicles and submit to Shop Manager for approval
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance
  • Repair flat tires, check spare tire pressure, check safety features of vehicle
  • Report any discovered repair issues to Shop Manager
  • Ensure vehicles are road-ready
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles
  • Good grasp of mechanical repair assessment
  • Good communication skills
  • Good time management skills

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Minimum of Associate's degree in mechanical repair
  • Preferred: Previous fleet vehicle maintenance experience
  • Preferred: Certified wire welder

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment, indoors
  • Some work outdoors required
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically
  • Walking and working on feet most of the day
