Job Accountabilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Production Planning Manager, the Production Planning Scheduler responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assists/Coordinates in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data.
  • Assists/Coordinates with interacting with the production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments.
  • Assists/Coordinates with managing volume and manufacturing location changes between factories as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Assists/Coordinates in monitoring inventories in an effort to minimize costs and achieve Plant inventory goals.
  • Assists/Coordinates in overseeing development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability for the Division.
  • Assists/Coordinates in maintaining accurate needs attention and obsolete inventory and implement measures for improvement.
  • Assists/Coordinates in tracking/analyzing data and producing required reports.
  • Prepare daily and monthly status reports for intra company distribution and attention to 10-20-30 inventory.
  • Assists/Coordinates in updating and maintaining the planning production system.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
  • Plan, Prepare and distribute production scheduling documents weekly and daily to meet customer requirements and achieve plant efficiency goals.
  • Assist and attention to 10-20-30 Inventory, Schedule adherence, and shearing schedule.
  • Coordinates with the manufacturing floor to actively manage the production schedule.
  • Coordinates procurement (Schedule/Delivery) of decorated plate and certain raw materials (Bands, Compound, Liner Material) to support production schedule.
  • Perform cycle counts as part of the process and establish molding requirements with plastic band vendors.
  • Serve as main communication liaison between Plant and Customer Service/Sales Managers, relaying information regarding status of customer orders to ensure releases are met and revisions are affected.
  • Monitor the File Maker and IBMI Databases to maintain integrity of records for multiple plant user's access.
  • Follows and audits production orders through the production process to ensure the proper schedule is followed.
  • Coordinates material delivery with inventory to support manufacturing schedule. May examine material delivered to production to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Complies records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Performs system transactions to report movement of material between manufacturing operations and into finished goods.
  • Monitors daily progress of manufacturing orders.
  • Monitors quality, service, and delivery issues and issues corrective actions as needed.
  • Plans and schedules production orders based on established priorities and the availability of required materials and capacity. Follows up to determine actual performance versus estimates.
  • Assembles work order packets complete with work order router, completion dates, and instructions for subsequent operations.
  • Maintain the capacity report so that it can be used as a tool in the planning and scheduling process.
  • Maintain monthly and yearly inventory levels.
  • Maintain additional metric reports for Plant Manager
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Associate and/or bachelor's degree in business, logistics management or a related area preferred.
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in a production planning/logistics/materials handling role.
  • Knowledge of IBMI.
  • Experience in manufacturing, operational, and customer driven environments.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as working independently and self-directed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • While performing these duties of this job, the associate will regularly be required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to ten pounds.
  • Generally, works in an office setting, but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
