The Emergency Department specializes in emergency medicine and operates 24 hours a day. The department sees a variety of patients from newborns to geriatrics who come by ambulance or walk in. The Emergency Department provides the initial treatment and stabilization of patients who come with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which can be life threatening.
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients in the Emergency Department and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Education:
| Graduate of accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire). | Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree in Nursing. |
Experience:

| One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficacy. |
License(s)/Certification(s):
| * Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. * Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire. * Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within 1 year from date of hire. * Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or within 1 year from date of hire. * Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization(PEARS) within 1 year of hire date. * Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year of hire date.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

| * Satisfactory completion of Finley Nurse Residency program with 1 year of start date for all nurses with minimal or no prior acute care experience. * Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
