Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of Strategy and Business Solutions will help drive HTLF's success and transformational change through strategic analysis, leading cross-organizational teams, and implementing new initiatives including the development and use of new data, technology, AI and other modern tools. This role involves supporting and designing complex solutions by fostering collaboration among business and technical teams, and ensuring seamless coordination with lines of business and support partners. As a key liaison to the Project Management Office (PMO), this role plays an essential part in designing effective processes and oversight. Furthermore, this role collaborates closely with the Information Technology group to leverage internal systems and technologies for optimal efficiency. The Director of Strategy and Business Solutions tracks and reports on initiative outcomes and cultural impact, ensuring HTLF's continued growth and competitiveness in the ever-evolving financial landscape.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and execution of HTLF's long-term and short-term strategic plans to drive growth, profitability, and market expansion.
  • In partnership with business line and finance leaders, develops business cases for strategic initiatives.
  • Identifies and evaluates new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments to expand the HTLF's services and market share.
  • Provides analytical data in support of market analysis and industry trends to address market shifts and position the organization for future success.
  • Defines, tracks, and reports key performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the strategy and business solutions.
  • Assesses and mitigates risks associated with strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Analyzes business cases, financial data, including budgets, forecasts, and financial statements, to make informed decisions about investments and resource allocation.
  • Collaborates with senior management, department heads, and external partners to align strategy with HTLF's overall vision and goals.
  • Drives innovation and business process improvement to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
  • Supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of strategic projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Presents strategic plans, progress updates, and recommendations to the executive team in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelors in Business, Finance, or related field required
  • Masters preferred
  • 7-10 years Experience in strategic planning, business development, or related roles in the banking or financial services industry required
  • Proven track record of successfully leading strategic initiatives and managing a team
  • Experience with financial analysis, risk management, and regulatory compliance

The targeted salary for this role is:

$195,263.00 - $253,843.00

Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location of the specific role as well as work experience, education, and skills of the selected candidate.
